Digital Signage.
The term Digital Signage refers to any electronic display showing messages, adverts or any other kind of information. Digital signage displays can consist of LED signs, projectors, or LCD, Plasma or OLED displays.
Modern Digital Signage systems usually consists of two hardware components - the display itself and a media player which processes the content and outputs a video signal to the display.
Early Digital Signage players were only capable of displaying a loop of videos and images and had limited networking options, if any at all. Modern Digital Signage players like the Navaho MediaCAT can create content rich displays with media information pulled from many different sources such as MPEG2/4 Video, Slide Shows, Flash™ Movies, Live TV and Video feeds, RSS/text tickers and local and external web pages.
